I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you the very happy news that Charles Walker, has been honoured with a Knighthood for political and public service.
Since being elected by our Constituency in 2005, Sir Charles has worked tirelessly on our behalf to fight our corner, including most recently with the incinerator campaign. I am delighted that this hard work has been rewarded with this well deserved honour. He has also been a voice of reason in national debates and is very well respected by all in the House of Commons for his roles as Chairman of the Procedure Committee and Acting Joint Chairman of the 1922 Committee which recently oversaw the Party Leadership election.
I spoke with Sir Charles a short while ago and, on behalf of the whole Broxbourne Conservative Association, congratulated him and Lady Walker, and thanked him for all of his hard work; a sentiment I am sure we all share.
